Esther has been part of the Laserfiche Sales team since 2013 and this is her 6th Empower Conference. She leads two teams under the sales umbrella: Customer Success and Sales Operations. Customer success includes building a team focused on strengthening our user community, focusing on retention, and expansion of existing customers. Sales operations encompass the solution provider program, including the onboarding and standardization of sales educational content for the channel.
Since joining Laserfiche in 1989, Karl Chan has been a driving force in the company’s software development. He held a variety of technology leadership roles before being named Chief Technology Officer in 2005 and President in 2014. In 2015, Karl received a CTO Lifetime Achievement Award from the Los Angeles Business Journal for his creativity, leadership and vision in creating innovative technology solutions for Laserfiche and its customers.
Hedy Belttary, Senior Vice President of Sales, has an extensive history with Laserfiche. As Director of Government Sales, Director of Business Development and Vice President of Vertical Marketing, she worked closely with Laserfiche founder Nien-Ling Wacker to standardize and spread a marketing and sales model that emphasizes in-person education, peer-to-peer training, vendor partnerships and a widespread reseller channel. This hallmark strategy has helped make Laserfiche a global leader in the ECM industry. With her unique experience as both a Laserfiche executive and a Laserfiche VAR, Hedy now focuses on strengthening the relationship between Laserfiche and the VAR channel to grow sales opportunities.
As Managing Director of Laserfiche International Ltd., Sean Tang leads the company’s international operations. Leveraging over 10 years of experience with Laserfiche working in both corporate and channel sales roles, Sean manages a team of sales, marketing, technical support and operations professionals working out of the company’s international headquarters in Hong Kong. In his previous role at Laserfiche, Tang managed nearly 200 resellers and distributors on five continents. Educated in Belgium and the United States, Sean is fluent in English, French and Cantonese. He is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, where he studied International Economics and Chinese Studies.
Thomas Phelps IV is the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & CIO at Laserfiche. Thomas is currently responsible for corporate strategy, vertical marketing, analyst relations, corporate training and enterprise IT governance. Previously, Thomas was the national entertainment and media champion for cybersecurity at PwC. He led C-level relationships with clients and served as the Advisory Services leader for two Fortune 500 companies.
Tim Nichols, Vice President of Marketing, joined Laserfiche in 2016. Tim, who is responsible for setting strategic direction and goals for Laserfiche’s global marketing initiatives, brings over 20 years of software and start-up leadership experience in marketing, product marketing and product management. Most recently, Tim headed up Marketing for the Fraud Line of Business for FICO and has also held a number of leadership roles at Amazon.com, AT&T, Buzztime Entertainment, and OneHealth Solutions.
Melissa Henley, Director of Marketing Communications at Laserfiche, oversees corporate marketing communications initiatives. Melissa, who joined Laserfiche in 2007, has nearly 20 years’ experience driving strategic marketing plans for leading software, financial services and educational organizations. She is a frequent speaker at industry events, user groups and webinars on topics including change management, presentation techniques and other management skills. Melissa is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) Foundation Board of Directors, where she serves as chair of the Marketing Committee.
